Running Back is entering his seventh year after assembling four straight Pro Bowl seasons as the starting running back for the Minnesota Vikings. Since sharing the backfield during his first two seasons, Running Back has never failed to amass one thousand yards on the ground nor reach the end zone less than five times. According to a reference site he had 1,368 rushing yards on 235 attempts with 10 touchdowns in 2022. He added 387 yards on 46 receptions with 3 touchdowns through the air. What would be an outstanding year for many running backs was a standard performance for an elite football player.
Running Back is a three down back and he is dangerous with the football on any down and distance. Whether it's seeing a gap close and bouncing it back to the edge for six, shooting through the A gap on 2nd & 4 and ripping off a 50 yard touchdown run or coming out of the backfield and catching a touchdown pass on a wheel route vs man coverage, Running Back has all of the tools you would want your number 1 halfback to have. He would be an asset to any offense entering the 2023 season.
Running Back has both the athletic talent and game day skills to continue his success as a starting halfback. He has the vision to consistently find the hole and burst through and the awareness to cut back when that hole closes. He possesses the lateral speed and agility to constantly attack the edge. He is a tough runner, hard to bring down on initial contact and moving the pile when he's surrounded by defenders. He's elusive and sheds tackles on a regular basis. He's a mismatch in open space whether it's against a linebacker or a defensive back. He has top end speed with his initial burst and can threaten the second and third levels of the defense. He has great hands and is a reliable pass catcher on short to intermediate routes.
Further notes:
He can consistently work through traffic whether it's an open gap at the line of scrimmage, shaking defenders at the second level or crashing through contact
His contact balance is on display almost every time he touches the ball shedding tackles and moving his feet through each hit
He has a second gear once he clears the first two levels of a defense. He can outrun cornerbacks and safeties
He is a home run threat every time he gets the ball regardless of down and distance
He is a sure target on underneath routes
He catches the ball with his hands, he doesn't wait for the ball to hit his body.
